About us

NFL Flag Football & Cheer (NFL FLAG SoCal) serves Los Angeles County, including the South Bay and nearby communities.

NFL FLAG

NFL Flag SoCal is a progressive, developmental league in which each division offers expanded opportunities for players to build their skills, confidence, and love of NFL Flag football. The league is run by former players and experienced youth sports professionals and coaches.

Who we are

We are a community of former players, youth football coaches, commissioners and managers with experience in some of the nation’s best-known youth football programs.

The league is run by an experienced coaching staff, support staff and advisory board. Each member has years of direct football experience. The league follows the NFL FLAG model, rules and regulations.

Our program is non-tackle and low impact, open to new and returning players of all skill levels.

How the season works

During the season, each team has two local weekday practices, with locations and schedule at each coach's discretion. There is one official game on the weekend.

Each player is evaluated for their skills and strengths during pre-season evaluations, then drafted based on their skill set and level of play.

Flag football takes commitment: consistent attendance at practices and games from players, coaches and families.

Practice and game attendance is mandatory. Absences only by exception. As with any commitment, showing up and participating is essential to each player's experience and to what they contribute to the team. Practices are where teams learn their plays, build strategy, and come together as a team. Missed practices will affect game playing time, and repeated absences can affect a player's confidence and performance.

Over the years, players build lasting friendships with the league, their teammates, other participants and coaches. This program introduces flag football to new players and helps returning players keep growing. Each division is developmental, and each level becomes progressively more competitive. Young athletes leave the program prepared to enter their high school athletic programs.
